Teacher Gifts for Dog Lovers: Ideas for the Classroom Dog Person

If your child’s teacher has dog photos on the desk or a puppy as their lock screen, you already know the theme. Teachers go through a lot of paper and appreciate things they can use at school, so practical wins.

  1. A breed notebook for lesson plans

Teachers are always writing: lesson plans, meeting notes, to-do lists. Our A5 spiral hardcover notebooks ($19.99) have 100 ruled sheets and a dog caught mid-mischief on the cover. Pick the breed closest to their own dog.

  2. A note from your child

Ask your child to write what they liked most about the class, and tuck it inside the notebook. Teachers keep these for years.

  3. A class-made dog drawing

Have classmates draw the teacher’s dog, or their own dogs, and collect the drawings into one card or poster.

  4. Good pens or highlighters

The natural partner for a notebook. Colorful gel pens or highlighters are small, useful and always welcome.

  5. A coffee shop gift card

Slip it into the notebook as a bookmark. Early mornings and parent conferences run on coffee.

  6. A shelter donation in the class’s name

A group gift that matches their love of dogs, and a nice way to teach kids about giving back.

When to give a teacher gift

A few moments when a thank-you means the most:

  • The first weeks of school, to start the year on a friendly note.
  • The winter holidays.
  • Teacher Appreciation Week, the first full week of May in the US.
  • The last week of school.

Check the school’s gift policy

Some schools and districts limit the value of gifts teachers can accept. A notebook with a handwritten note fits within almost any policy, and a class group gift is a good option when there is a cap.

Ordering in time

We pack orders within 3–5 business days, and USPS Ground Advantage usually delivers 2–5 business days after that. Orders to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories and APO/FPO addresses can take a few extra days.

For a specific date, order at least two weeks ahead.
