Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping address, the products you bought and, if you provide it, your phone number. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
• When you join our newsletter or ask to be notified about a new breed: your email address and where you signed up.
• When you send us a phrase for our wall: the name, email and phrase you submit.
• When you vote for the next breed: we count the vote without linking it to you. Your browser remembers that you already voted.
• Automatically: like most websites, our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Cookies and browser storage

We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. We use your browser's local storage to remember your cart and your vote; that information stays on your device. When you pay, Stripe's checkout page uses its own cookies for payment processing and fraud prevention, as described in Stripe's Privacy Policy.

How we use your information

• To process, pack and ship your order, and to handle returns and refunds.
• To send you order confirmations, shipping updates and answers to your questions.
• To send you our newsletter or launch alerts, only if you asked for them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To feature selected phrases on our site, together with the name you entered. We never publish your email address.
• To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet our tax, accounting and legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run the shop:

• Stripe, to process payments, prevent fraud and calculate sales tax.
• Resend, to deliver our order and shipping emails.
• Cloudflare, to host the site, keep it secure and forward emails sent to us.
• USPS and our shipping label provider, which need your address to deliver your order.
• Google Fonts, which serves the fonts on our site; your browser connects to Google's servers to load them.

We may also disclose information when required by law, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them for taxes and accounting, generally up to seven years. We keep newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe, and phrases until you ask us to remove them.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop sending you marketing emails, by writing to hello@yesmydog.com. Depending on where you live (for example, Texas or California), you may have additional rights under state law. We will respond within 45 days, and we won't treat you differently for exercising your rights. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our response.

Security

Our site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), and card payments are handled entirely by Stripe, a certified PCI DSS Level 1 payment processor. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.

Children

Our site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site or sent by email.
